What is Brain Gym Level 1?

Brain Gym Level 1 by Able Marga is a 4-week printable thinking-skills workbook for all children aged 2 to 5. It gives parents a ready daily routine: one warm-up, one lighter page, one thinking page, and a tick for the day.

Also made for children with special needs. One task per page, pictures your child already knows, answers by pointing and a steady easy-to-hard order make it a strong fit for children with autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, speech delay or developmental delay. Special educators and therapists can use it as a ready home programme.

Why parents choose it

  • 10 minutes a day. Two pages per day, so it fits before school, after dinner or into a therapy home programme.
  • No reading needed. You read the one-line instruction aloud. Pointing, saying the answer or drawing a line all count.
  • Easy to hard, in order. Looking and matching come first, then patterns and memory, then reasoning. Each skill builds on the last.
  • Indian, everyday pictures. Laddoos, autos, kites, mangoes, a Diwali night and the kirana shop. Children recognise what they see, so they focus on the thinking.
  • Clear success line. Pre-writing pages say what success looks like. Direction matters more than neatness, and wobbly lines count as practice.
  • Answers for grown-ups. Answers sit upside down at the foot of each page, so you can check without giving them away.

8 skill areas your child practises

  1. Pre-writing strokes (top to bottom, curves, starting from the green dot)
  2. Two-hand drawing (both hands at once, for left–right coordination)
  3. Visual search (find and circle)
  4. Spot the difference (visual discrimination)
  5. Matching same pictures
  6. Patterns (what comes next?)
  7. Memory (look, cover, remember)
  8. Simple reasoning and logic (what fits, which way)

What’s inside

  • 40 daily worksheets across 4 weeks, plus 8 optional extra pages
  • A one-page parent guide: the 10-minute routine and how to help without telling
  • Weekly progress tracker to tick off each day
  • “Success looks like” notes on pre-writing pages
  • Answers printed upside down on each page

How to use it: the 10-minute routine

  1. Warm-up, 1 minute. Finger-trace yesterday’s pre-writing page slowly, starting from the green dot.
  2. First page. The lighter one: lines, searching or spotting.
  3. Second page. The thinking one: matching, patterns, memory or logic.
  4. Tick the day. Stop while it is still fun.

Tip: use a thick crayon, keep feet flat and the paper straight. At the end of Week 4, redo page 2 and compare the two pages side by side.

Who it is for

  • Children aged 2 to 5 at nursery, LKG or pre-nursery level
  • Children with autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, speech delay or developmental delay working at a 2–5 year level
  • Parents, special educators, occupational therapists and preschool teachers who want a ready home programme
  • Indian and NRI families looking for culturally familiar printables

Format and delivery

  • Digital PDF, instant download after payment (no physical product is shipped)
  • Prints on A4; use “Fit to page” for US Letter
  • Print once, or slip pages into a sheet protector and reuse with a dry-erase marker
  • Licence: one family or one classroom

Next step: when your child is ready for longer tasks, Brain Gym Level 2 (ages 5–10) continues the same routine with mazes, logic grids and rupee maths.
